Membership

The NGO-KSD is made up of five (5) categories of members, namely:

  1. Founding members
  2. Regular members
  3. Regular members: Educational institutions
  4. Associate Members 
  5. Honorary members

Founding Members

Unless otherwise provided for in the constitution, a founding member is any individual, 18 years of age or older, who has actively participated in the creation of this Corporation and who guarantees the continuity of its mission and values. The category of founding members confers the right to vote.

Regular Members

Regular membership may be granted to any individual, 18 years of age or older, interested in promoting the objectives of the Corporation and contributing to it on a permanent basis. His or her application for membership shall be accepted by the directors and, unless otherwise provided in the constitution, the directors shall determine the fee and the number of years during which such person shall be considered a member of the Corporation. Regular membership shall carry the right to vote.

Regular Members: Educational Institutions 

Regular membership may be granted to any educational or vocational training institution interested in promoting and contributing to the objectives of the Corporation on a continuing basis. Its application for membership must be accepted by the directors and, unless otherwise provided in the constitution, the directors shall determine the fee and the number of years during which such person shall be considered a member of the Corporation. The category of regular members educational institutions shall be entitled to vote.

Associate Members

Any individual 18 years of age or older, or corporation that demonstrates an intention to further the objectives of the Corporation may become an associate member. Associate membership does not confer the right to become a director or to vote at meetings of members. However, an associate member may attend such meetings and shall have the right to be heard at meetings of the members of the Corporation when they are held.

Honorary Members

Honorary membership may be granted ex officio to any individual, 18 years of age or older, or corporation who has rendered significant service to the Corporation. This status may be revoked at any time by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. He/she may attend general meetings with voice but no vote. He/she shall receive all publications of the Corporation.

The board may, from time to time, by resolution, modify the foregoing conditions of membership.
